Calling All Canuck Web Developers and Designers
To all the Canadian developers and designers for the web, I noted a post on [thelist] the mail list of evolt.org wanting to know if their are any Canadian Web Developer/Designer conferences. It seems as if this is an unheard of event. If anyone out there knows of any other event besides Flash In The Can let me know.
If you don’t know of any such events, let me know if you have any interest in a Great White North Web Conference. It could be held anywhere and or we could rotate locations around the country. BTW my own bent is toward standards-based websites using (X)HTML and CSS but XML and other technologies are more than welcome to discuss and suggest a program etc. I really want to push websites as a marketing and sales vehicle as well. This post is a little stream-of-consciousness but I had the impulse to post.

By Canadian, they are interested in one that is held within Canada, not one focused on Canadian content (there are many great conferences held internationally but we can’t all afford to attend these). Kim was the one who asked about whether or not there was a conference in Canada, I merely suggested that if there isn’t one there should be.
I don’t know what will come of it but I had two reasons for putting out the word. One, to build and promote the Canadian Web Developer/Designer community and two, to allow for more Canadaians to attend a conference who haven’t gone because it is in London or Melbourne. I would certainly expect that international developer/designers might be interested in attending, especially those in the northern US or those near a major airport.
I really want to see the Candadian Development community come together and get out of the offices and learn from one another. I also want to draw attention to the industry from Canadian business and media. In, addition, I want to talk about all facets of making the web from SEO to Sales.

Canadian Web Design Conferences - Is There A Market?
A debate is raging somewhere over there in Western Canada about the possibility of another Web Designer’s conference.
While all the arguments, both very much for and very much against are very compelling, it has got me thinking.
Does Canada …
